A real case

How Reno brought order to a family's journey.

A family in Panama, a long-term pediatric treatment and a support network full of goodwill — but with nowhere to get organized. That's how Reno was born.

To protect the patient's privacy, this page includes no names, photos or personal details.
An anonymous day-to-day treatment detail: calendar and pill organizer

Context

A Panamanian family received the diagnosis no one wants to receive: their young son would need a long, demanding medical treatment. Overnight, family life became a constant flow of medications on strict schedules, appointments, lab tests, documents and expenses.

Information lived scattered: paper prescriptions, PDF results over WhatsApp, appointments held in memory, expenses in one person's head. And all around, dozens of people wanting to help without knowing how.

The day-to-day of treatment: notes, calendar and organized medications

The problem

  • Information scattered across papers, chats and memory — hard to consult exactly when it matters most.
  • The load concentrated on a single caregiver, with no simple way to delegate.
  • A support network full of goodwill, but with no organized channel to help.
  • Transparency hard to demonstrate to those who wanted to support financially.

What was organized with Reno

The family didn't change their treatment — they changed how they carried it:

Medications and schedules in the app, with reminders delivered to the phone's calendar.

Appointments and check-ups in an agenda shared by caregivers.

Documents and lab results in one private place, with trends to see them clearly.

A public page to tell the story, receive encouragement and organize support.

Expenses documented and visible on the page: supporters see where the help goes.

Tasks split among several caregivers, each with their role and permissions.

What we learned

Human confirmation matters

Nothing extracted automatically and nothing public goes out without a person approving it. That friction is a feature: it protects.

Private by default removes fear

When publishing is a decision and not an accident, the family dares to share more, and better.

Transparency builds support

Showing expenses and updates with order made the network trust — and stay, months later.

This can help more families.

Reno already works and is ready to be replicated — with families directly, or through the organizations that support them.
