This is how we protect families.
Reno handles sensitive information from families in difficult moments — a patient's health data, sometimes a minor's. These are the commitments that govern it, written for families and for the organizations evaluating a partnership.
Six commitments
We give no medical advice
Reno doesn't diagnose, prescribe, calculate doses or recommend treatments. It organizes what the family records; the medical team is always in charge.
We don't process donations
Support goes straight to the accounts the family sets up. Reno never touches the money and takes no commission.
We don't sell data
No ads, no selling or sharing of data. Sponsors never access patient information.
We minimize what's public
Private by default. The family decides what gets published, and doctors' contact details and the patient's sensitive information are never exposed.
Human review
Donation methods and public documents are reviewed by the team before going live. AI-extracted data starts as a draft and requires a person's confirmation.
Reports and action
Anyone can report a suspicious page. Every report is reviewed and actions are audited.
Technical measures
Underneath the commitments there's architecture, not promises:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) across the platform
- Per-family isolation at the database level: one family cannot see another's data
- Private files in closed storage, served through signed links that expire
- Sensitive actions require confirmation and leave an audit trail

The highest standard
Reno was born supporting a child's treatment, and the whole platform inherited that standard for every patient: minimal public exposure, explicit and revocable consent to publish, and human review of everything that goes out into the world. When the patient is a minor, those protections are reinforced.
